The story Solace Rises takes place in Edmonton, AB and the rural Lakeland area in Alberta. As an avid movie goer I’ve grown up seeing New York being destroyed countless times in so many different ways and it got me thinking. What would Edmonton look like in such a situation? I think it would be really cool to be a part of and write that experience.

Derek grew up in a small town in Alberta and was adopted really young to an amazing family. He is first nations from Thunderchild reserve in Saskatchewan. He started writng at fifteen years old which included poetry and stories. He is married with three kids.
